Honda Unveils New 'H' Logo for Future Electric Vehicles

Honda's EVs are getting a new logo. The company is updating its iconic "H" emblem, which it has consistently used on all its vehicles since 1981. The new logo, described by Honda as representing "two outstretched hands," is a thinner, more minimalist version of the current H and does not feature a trapezoidal border. This new logo bears a striking resemblance to Honda's first logo. Introduced in 1963, the original H was similarly thin with a top-heavy design, but it was wider rather than taller. This logo was only used briefly on the 1969 N600, the first car the company sold in America, before being redesigned in 1969.
The company says the new logo is intended to highlight its commitment to electric vehicles and will appear on "next-generation electric vehicles," including production versions of the Series Zero vehicles planned for release in 2026.

Honda 0 Series

The brand has introduced two new "0 Series" concepts, the Saloon and the Space Hub. The new H logo will be used on future 0 Series electric cars. The 0 Series is a new generation of simple, designed electric vehicles set to be offered to American buyers starting in 2026, each with its own unique branding.

According to the announcement, the Honda 0 Series represents a return to the starting point as a manufacturer and Honda's commitment to creating entirely new electric vehicles from scratch. Developed under the principles of "thin, light, and smart," these new concept models were designed with the philosophy of "maximum human, minimum machine." In this context, the vehicles will be equipped with next-generation ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems). The new system aims to provide more human-like, natural, and highly accurate risk predictions by using advanced AI, sensing, recognition, and driver monitoring technology, ensuring people feel safer.

The new electric vehicles will also feature long-range, high-density batteries with minimal size. Honda plans to emphasize aerodynamics significantly in the new 0 Series models, as evidenced by the markings on the car's bodywork. The lighting elements are quite unique, with headlights resembling the F Series. Each 0 Series production model will feature the new Honda emblem for the first time since 1981. It is uncertain whether non-electric Hondas will adopt the new H logo. However, Honda has previously announced its plan for electric and fuel cell vehicles to make up 40% of new vehicle sales by 2030, 80% by 2035, and 100% by 2040.
